Strange problem with material editor - 3D Buzz
Jun 19, 2013 · I want my sample slots in my material editor to display VrayMtl as defaults. In order to do this, we go to Customize > Custom UI and Defaults Switcher > Select Max.vray under Initial Settings for Tools Options. Having done this, I ensure that under Assign Render (in Render Setup) I have Vray selected for both Production and Material Editor.

I've always had trouble figuring out how to utilize both of them together, because 3ds max has it's own native "normal map" material which gives me the option of using both the normal and additional bump slot. But VRay has it's own native "VRayNormalMap" material, but there isn't an additional bump slot.
